JERETT BROOKS - OFF ROAD RACER
TEAM TOYO MEMBER SINCE 2018
In which series are you currently racing as a member of Team Toyo?
LOORRS and SST on occasion
Current Race Vehicle:
#77 Rigid Industries, Toyo Tires LOORRS Ford Raptor Pro 2 Unlimited
When and how did you get into racing?
About 10 years ago I started at the local go-kart track where I ended up seeing a trophy kart on display. I tried it out and decided that’s what I wanted to race. I’m a first generation racer and I had always played baseball as a kid before racing. But once I got into a trophy kart and started racing it back in the old CORR days in 2008, I was hooked.
Most memorable moment in your career:
My 3 Pro Lite Championships are all very special to me but my very first Pro 2 win, which happened to be my very first Pro 2 race against some of the best short course racers in the world, was something I’ll never forget.
Is there a person who has contributed directly to your success in racing?
I would say my entire family. They’ve supported me from day one. I didn’t always have sponsors so this has been a small team that started primarily as family and I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.
If you could have anyone as your co-driver for just one race, who would you pick and why?
Probably Rob MacCachren. I’ve always looked up to Rob and tried to carry myself the way he has throughout his career. If he rode with me, I’m sure I could pick up a few pointers from him that would help me become more successful.
What kind of training do you prefer to stay in shape, and why?
During the off-season I work with a trainer and follow a strict diet and gym routine. Once the season starts, I focus on maintaining my cardio. I’ve lost races before from getting tired and losing focus. We race throughout the summer so my fitness has become a priority throughout the season.
Person most admired in your life:
Definitely my grandpa. He’s always believed in me and taught me so much about life in general which has helped me stay focused on my career. He also supported my racing program prior to me landing any real sponsors once I moved up into the professional ranks. Definitely couldn’t have done this without him.
What do you do when you’re not racing?
I love going to the river with my friends and family and driving my Can-Am in the desert.
